Uli Hoffman brings over 22 years of international winemaking experience to the English wine scene, having worked in some of the finest vineyards of Austria, Bordeaux, Spain, Napa Valley and the UK. This global perspective, combined with ambition and precision, underpins the distinctive character of Hoffman & Rathbone wines.

Together with his wife Birgit, Uli became increasingly inspired by the potential for world-class sparkling wine in Southern England. That belief led them to establish their own small winery in the Sussex Weald, where they maintain complete control over every stage of production.

Producing wines only in vintages that truly allow it, Uli and Birgit champion extended lees ageing and a meticulous, hands-on approach. The result is a collection of small-batch, award-winning English sparkling wines of remarkable finesse, complexity and depth — wines that comfortably stand alongside the very best in the world.
