Collection: Roebuck Wines
It is often said that great wines are made in the vineyard, and at Roebuck this belief has guided every decision from the very beginning. Since planting their first vineyard near Petworth in West Sussex in 2013 — on a seam of red sand soil reminiscent of the Côte d’Or — the focus has been on producing the highest-quality fruit possible.
Today, Roebuck has established six vineyard sites across West and East Sussex and Kent, each carefully chosen for its individual terroir. These vineyards are divided into more than 70 individual blocks, planted with different grape varieties, clones and rootstocks of the three classic Champagne varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Each block is tailored to its site, allowing the team to maximise expression and quality.
All fruit is harvested by hand, block by block, to ensure optimum ripeness. Some wines undergo partial fermentation in old Burgundy barrels, adding texture, depth and complexity, before ageing for a minimum of three years on the lees. This meticulous approach gives winemaker Jake Wicks and the Roebuck team a broad palette of high-quality components, allowing for precise and expressive blending in the final cuvées.
